BIREX is one of the 8 Italian Competence Centers funded by the Italian Ministry of the Economic Development, within the Industry 4.0 National Plan. It is a public-private Consortium which gathers in partnership 57 players among Universities, Research Centers and Companies, with a specific focus on Big Data and Internet of Things.
BIREX has experience in supporting companies in their digitalization and innovation processes and in the adoption of enabling technologies, with a view to Industry 4.0. One of the most important BIREX strengths is represented by its Pilot Plant, where Industry 4.0 enabling technologies can be implemented and optimized. BIREX has experience in setting-up use cases and demos with the goal of integrating technologies for industrial purposes. Among those, we hosted several proofs of concept utilizing a 5G private network (27 GHz NSA) for industrial communications and robotics.
