Fraunhofer IAF covers the whole value chain of mm-wave and THz MMIC research and development up to 1100 GHz, from epitaxial growth, processing, design, RF characterization, prototyping, small volume production and advanced packaging. Specific to the project, IAF has acquired key competencies in the design of front-end MMICs for multi-gigabit wireless communication systems at E-band (60 GHz and 71-86 GHz) and H-band (around 240 GHz and 300 GHz), documented by several ongoing or completed projects. In addition, IAF has wide experience in MMIC and component design for radar applications, radio astronomy, imaging, gas spectroscopy and medical research with internationally outstanding results up to 700 GHz.
